Mary Sui Yee Wong

This installation consists of a chamber filled with basins of boiling water and vapor rub, a soundtrack of a child’s heavy breath while she sleeps, and a family photo of the artist as a child. By invoking childhood memories juxtaposed with my role as a mother of two daughters, the work explores the anxieties and fears of what my role as a ‘good’ mother entails.
