Mary Sui Yee Wong

As part of the open studio tour, I presented a series of flocked objects in my backyard while carrying out a workshop whereby visitors could have an object flocked on the spot. This work was a site-specific performative presentation of my studios to the public. For two weekends during October 2001, the public was invited to meet me, have tea, watch me flock objects and visit my garden installation of readymade objects (baby chair, bicycle, toys, child’s chair, etc.) that had been covered with green turf.

This performance/installation was intended to share the connection between my art practice and my day-to-day role as mother.
